Under moderate supervision, using the on-line systems of the four cooperating libraries (Central State, University of Cincinnati, Miami University, and Wright State University) performs a variety of duties in the receipt, processing, and correct placement of materials into and retrieval from the depository. Assists in planning, and carrying out, the operation of a large-scale storage facility in an environment that stresses teamwork and team processes. Assists in the de-duping project which includes the designation, removal, and replacement of items in the depository, and updating the corresponding institutional catalogue records.
Using the four institutions' on-line systems:
Requires six months of coursework beyond high school and one year of Library experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of library procedures; knowledge of computer and library research software; ability to motivate student employees. Physical effort usually requires considerable walking and standing with some lifting of materials weighing between 25-50 pounds. Periodic assignments given which entail dealing with modestly unpleasant physical situations.
Computer experience and excellent interpersonal skills.
