Detailed Job Description

Under the direction of the Automation/Integration Services department, the Technician I, II, III provides support to the faculty, staff and student users through diagnosing and repairing equipment and technical issues. Handles multiple applications and systems. Assist in providing technical support services for the institution regarding the automation of critical processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Level 8 (Support Technician I): Graduation from a standard senior high school or the equivalent and any combination of computer related education and/or technical support and customer service experience related to the essential functions totaling one year; OR
Level 10 (Support Technician II): Graduation from a standard senior high school or the equivalent and any combination of computer related education and/or technical support and customer service experience related to the essential functions totaling two years; OR
Level 12 (Support Technician III): Graduation from a standard senior high school or the equivalent and any combination of computer related education and/or technical support and customer service experience related to the essential functions totaling three years; must have worked in the Helpdesk for at least one year; required to have a current A+, CNA, MCP, MCSE, CCNA or other industry recognized certification applicable to the essential functions.

Preferred Qualifications

This is a Career Ladder position and will be placed at one of the following levels depending on qualifications.

Knowledge

Knowledge with systems such as Linux, MySQL, Apache, XML, Mac OS, and Windows OS.

Knowledge and experience with SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access.

Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and PHP.

Skills

Skills with scripting languages such as Perl, Power-shell or Bash.

Skills with Active Directory or LDAP directories.

Abilities

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Ability to be self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.

Pay Range

$10.54 to $16.26 per hour
