The University of Alabama is experiencing a high level of prosperity, continuing to hire new faculty, and has added multiple new engineering and science buildings. The College of Engineering bolsters this success with unprecedented growth in its undergraduate, graduate, and research programs, and is adding multiple new faculty positions that support the College’s mission. We invite applications from individuals who will make a significant contribution in the following areas: aerospace engineering; chemical and biological engineering; civil, construction, and environmental engineering; computer science; electrical and computer engineering; mechanical engineering; and metallurgical and materials engineering.
Successful candidates will be joining a dynamic and collegial faculty dedicated to providing high-quality undergraduate and graduate education, conducting leading-edge basic and applied research, and supporting and enhancing the engineering profession through their education, research and service activities. Successful candidates will be expected to develop a strong, externally-funded research program and excel in undergraduate and graduate instruction. The University of Alabama offers many opportunities to work within an integrated multidisciplinary research community of on-campus centers, including the Center for Sustainable Infrastructure, Center for Advanced Public Safety, the Environmental Institute, the University Transportation Center for Alabama, and the Center for Advanced Vehicle Technologies. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in engineering or a closely related field. Appointments will be at the rank of full professor. Applicants are encouraged to submit a resume, a statement of research and teaching interests, and a list of at least three references.
