Saint Louis University is a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, Health care, and service seeks dynamic, collegial, collaborative, and creative applicants for a non-tenure-track instructor position in the Department of Biomedical Engineering in Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology starting in the Fall of 2016. We seek faculty members who strive to provide engaging, high-quality teaching and mentoring to undergraduate and graduate students in a team-oriented, student-focused environment. The growing Biomedical Engineering department consists of eight full-time faculty members who offer both undergraduate and graduate degree programs to approximately 220 undergraduate students and 30 graduate students. Appointments are targeted for the instructor level; however, candidates with exceptional qualifications will be considered for appointment at a higher level.
• Make contributions primarily to the department’s undergraduate teaching mission
• Mentor undergraduate students
• Participate in departmental and college service
• An earned bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a graduate degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching
• Expertise in teaching core biomedical engineering courses such as Introduction to Biomedical
• Engineering, Mechanics, Biomechanics, Materials Science, Transport, Junior Lab, Biomedical Instrumentation, Signals and Systems, or Senior Project I and II.
Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology, founded in 1927, became an integral part of Saint Louis University in 1946. The college offers academic programs of excellence that integrate the education of the whole person with classroom and hands-on experiences in the major field of study. Laboratory coursework and undergraduate research are hallmarks of the student learning experience at Saint Louis University. The college offers ABET accredited bachelor’s degree programs in Aerospace, Biomedical, Civil, Computer, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Physics, and AABI accredited bachelor’s degrees in Flight Science and Aviation Management. M.S. and Ph.D. programs in engineering and aviation are also offered.
