The university is seeking a Web Project Manager who will take ownership of the content on our site. This means reviewing the current content to make sure it meets our editorial standards and facilitating future content development to do the same. The senior website content manager will be responsible for maintaining a consistent and professional voice for all aspects of the University’s online presence through use of the university’s web content management platform. In addition to writing, editing and proofreading site content, this person will also work closely with the technical team to maintain site standards with regard to new development and existing sites. The senior website content manager will also be responsible for conducting site reviews to help university departments understand how to maximize their site’s potential.


  • Lead the conceptualization, planning, and implementation of new site requests
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Review content requests with an eye for search engine optimization
  • Review sites for content quality and accuracy
  • Coordinate with website support staff
  • Plan and schedule project timelines
  • Write, edit and proofread content as needed
  • Review and interpret site analytics
  • Website quality assurance


Job Requirements


Experience and Educational Background:

  • Web Project Manager with more than five years of experience.
  • Degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field or 5+ years experience in web writing and understanding of complete web content lifecycle

Skills and Competencies:

  • Familiarity with blogging or other content management software
  • Knowledge of Ektron CMS a plus
  • Knowledge of AP style
  • Knowledge of HTML
  • Understanding of the visual and user-experience components of websites
  • Proven experience in strategic planning
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
  • Excellent web writing, editing and proofreading skills
