The Communications Specialist works with a department or area to develop and implement communication plans and activities to support the goals of a specific department, a college and/or The University.

Additional Department Summary:

The Web Editorial Specialist is responsible for the creation and support of websites and related projects for the College of Arts & Sciences. The position is responsible for developing, organizing, and maintaining text, photo, and video content for websites; monitoring day-to-day quality of web content; publishing social media content; and developing and maintaining A&S-specific content for the digital signage in A&S buildings. Tasks will include scheduling photographers and videographers; managing student workers; and designing and executing social media campaigns.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, Advertising or related field and one (1) year experience in journalism, public relations, or other communications related experience OR Master's degree. Related student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Experience or familiarity using web software programs, such as Dreamweaver or WordPress.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in creative writing, English, or journalism and two or more years' experience writing website content, or equivalent. Experience recording and editing video. Familiarity with Photoshop. 56 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 29120.04 Midpoint - $ 40767.96
