The Senior Director, Student Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the design and delivery of a student experience that is consistent with Saint Mary’s strategic vision and enhances student engagement and student success. Reporting to the Vice President, Academic and Research, the Senior Director, Student Services is a member of the academic leadership team and is currently accountable for the full student services portfolio including: Counselling Services, Career Services, International Student Centre, Student Employment Centre / Co-operative Education, Student Health Services, Fred Smithers Centre (Centre of Support for Students with Disabilities), Indigenous Student Advising and African Descent Student Advising, Chaplaincy Services, and the Child Care Centre, as well as student conduct, student life in housing, and many other aspects of student experience and student success. The Senior Director, Student Services will lead the development and introduction of a student services strategic plan; engaging students, Saint Mary’s University Students’ Association, Faculties and ancillary services to ensure the voice of students is reflected in the services and policies of the University and that the student experience is aligned inside and outside the classroom.
As the ideal candidate, you are a strategic and collaborative change leader with exceptional interpersonal skills and a track record of success working with internal and external stakeholders. Your progressive leadership experience in student services, student success and/or student development gives you an understanding of best practices in student affairs. You bring a passion and capacity for working with students, are committed to supporting equity, diversity and inclusion and have demonstrated cultural competency. You are able to lead teams, mentor and coach others, develop and manage budgets and set and meet project plans and deadlines.
