Detailed Job Description

The Assistant Director of Greek Affairs is responsible for the advisement and support of fraternities and sororities and the various Greek governing councils, developing and coordinating educational programs centered around established learning outcomes for fraternity and sorority members, and assessing the effectiveness of those programs, and supporting the Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life in developing a growing, healthy Greek community that is nationally recognized for its quality chapter experience and contributions to campus life.

Additional Department Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life serves as the primary advisor for the Alabama Panhellenic Association, the UA Greek Ambassadors and Rho Lambda National Sorority Leadership Recognition Society. Additionally, the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life is responsible for Greek-specific recruitment activities, parent outreach and marketing/communication efforts for the office.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience; OR a master's degree and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience. Related experience to include student programming, advising student groups and organizations, student union, and other student-oriented activities. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application. Must be able to conduct presentations and training workshops, be an effective communicator, and have organizational strength.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Undergraduate membership in a Greek-letter organization. Related experience to include advising student groups and organizations, student recruitment, and event planning. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge:

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills applicable for a diverse population. Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities. Knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, and database programs, to include CampusDirector and ChapterBuilder recruitment software programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Business/Management, or other related field and at least five (5) years of professional leadership experience in a higher education setting or a related field OR Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel, Counseling, Communication or a related field and three (3) years of professional leadership experience in a higher education setting. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 32614.44 Midpoint - $ 47299.20
