Under general direction, develops, implements, evaluates, and manages the care of Ob/Gyn patients; supervises day-to-day activities of patient care; performs assessments of patients; and attends educational in-services.

Graduate of an approved RN program, with Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred; supplemented with two (2) years of related clinical nursing experience; Missouri RN licensure required.
Delivers direct patient care; assesses patients physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs; provides patient and family teaching; directs patient calls and informs physician of patient status; responds to phone messages from patients and informs physicians as needed; schedules follow-up appointments as needed to meet patient care needs; administers medications as assigned; serves as a resource person for knowledge of medication uses, side effects, and dosage; checks for proper medication order; documents medications; obtains required consent forms to administer immunizations; notifies pharmacies of physician approved prescriptions; reviews drug samples to ensure they have not exceeded the expiration date; labels sample drugs; and educates patients of medication administration.
Evaluates results and monitors treatment plans; and maintains medical records.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Assists in assessing, developing, coordinating, and revising teaching programs for new staff; and participates in the orientation of new staff.
Participates in educational in-services and seminars for health care providers at Saint Louis University as well as the surrounding area; maintains current certification through continuing education.
