Mentors Adventure Trip Leaders in planning, implementing, marketing and leading a variety of multi-day outdoor adventure learning excursions and programs. Assists in supervising and training climbing wall employees.
Graduation with a high school diploma or GED.
Must have at least 2 years experience leading groups in an outdoor setting.
Previous experience driving 12 – 15 passenger vans.
Experience working in an indoor climbing gym.
General knowledge of various outdoor activities.
Technical knowledge with outdoor equipment.
Knowledge in climbing technique, equipment and theory.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Decision making skills.
Strong leadership and group facilitation skills.
Customer service skills.
Strong Organizational skills.
Skills in facilitating belay clinics and skills tests.
Ability to manage budgets.
Able to lift heavy equipment.
Ability to climb easy to moderate routes.
Ability to monitor and evaluate safe belaying skills (both top rope and lead climbing) abilities.
Ability to teach effective climbing techniques.
Ability to work with people and communicate clearly.
