Associate Professor - Mathematics (Bunker Hill Community College; Charlestown, Massachusetts): The Associate Professor, Mathematics, will be a full-time instructor in the Mathematics Department responsible for the teaching and curriculum development of developmental mathematics courses. Specific duties include: teach developmental mathematics courses; evaluate student performance in the classroom and laboratory settings using outcomes based assessment; utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote students' critical thinking skills; teach in learning communities and engage students in community service; develop instructional material consistent with course objectives; participate in determining goals and objectives of mathematics courses and assist in developing course standards; use Mathlab, Minitab, Mathematica, MyMathLab technologies in the classroom, as appropriate, to facilitate learning; and maintain expertise and currency in area of teaching responsibility.
Minimum requirements are: Master's degree in Mathematics plus 2 years of experience in college-level developmental mathematics instruction and experience using instructional software for developmental mathematics.
Must have: Ability to teach developmental and college-level mathematics in an accelerated format; ability to deliver instruction effectively to learners with diverse ability levels; ability to teach online; and proven ability to work with diverse community of faculty, staff, and students.
