Detailed Job Description

The N.A.S.A.D. accredited Department of Art seeks a half-time staff member to manage, maintain and support digital technology equipment and related supplies for multiple art studios and labs in the department.
Primarily the individual will: Support faculty coordinators in several areas to provide efficient workspaces, equipment check-out system(s), track supply inventory and assist with supply ordering budgets for the facilities. Additionally, the individual will support administrative staff and department faculty with department website and social media strategies.

This is a .5 FTE with benefits.

Identify and solve technology-related problems in a variety of art studios and design labs in support of faculty instruction across the Department of Art. Provide supervision of open studio time in art and design computer labs, and communicate with work-study staff. Provide effective solutions for shared use and tracking of technology equipment by faculty and students. Manage equipment that may include cameras, projectors, computers, printers, tablets, and audio equipment. This person will liaise with university IT staff and will coordinate updates and the transition of non-functional technology. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, be able to work with a diverse student and faculty body, and be available to work flexible hours.

Required Qualifications

B.F.A. in Art or Communication Design; or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science; or closely related field.

Experience using Adobe Creative Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Mac Computers as an IT or Help Desk Professional.

Experience working with clients or users with diverse levels of technological knowledge and skills

Experience working in a creative environment using digital tools.

Experience working in a diverse urban environment.

Must have oral communication skills and an ability to explain how to use technology.
