Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Reporting to the Director of Admission - This position implements recruitment strategies and assists the director in coordinating college admission processes.  The senior admissions counselor performs academic recruitment activities, including on- and off-campus events, collaborating with others to develop recruitment and publicity plans and campaigns, working with academic departments to promote program enrollment, supporting students through the admission process, processing college admission applications, assisting with supervision of staff and performing related work as directed.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Coordinates and manages all student recruitment activities to include outreach to high schools and organizations.
  • Coordinates and promotes the admission processes for all of the College's dual enrollment programs, including visits to schools, working with school counselors, and collaborating with faculty and staff members who provide courses and events for this student population.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of all recruitment programs and events both on and off campus.
  • Advises prospective students and families on educational opportunities, academic program offerings and enrollment procedures.
  • Represents the College at college fairs, career fairs, high school visits and other off campus recruitment activities as needed.
  • Utilizes the Banner student information system to track and communicate with prospective students and applicants.
  • Performs administrative tasks associated with department activities, including but not limited to, processing applications, extracting data, running reports, and creating correspondence.
  • Coordinates implementation of campus visits and training of the student guides.
  • Supervises the Office of Admission work study students and may supervise clerical staff.
  • Coordinates the international student admission process.
  • Collaborates with academic and student support areas to facilitate enrollment and orientation activities.
  • Performs administrative tasks in support of admission success, including helping to compile admission information, contributing to assessment activities and reporting.
  • Interacts collaboratively with on-campus staff and programs as well as with off-campus groups involved in enrollment activities.
  • Contributes to a positive office environment and student-centered approach to unit activities.
  • Creates an inclusive and supportive connection to all students; actively supports diversity.
  • Periodically works evenings and weekends to participate in college enrollment activities.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Education, Counseling, Psychology, or closely related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience and/or training that includes college admissions, student retention activities, and/or academic counseling/advisement.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with the use of social media platforms within recruitment and enrollment strategies.
  • Experience with Banner or a similar student information system.
  • Experience working within a community college setting.
  • Experience recruiting both traditional and non-traditional students.
  • Experience designing and implementing events related to recruiting and/or enrollment.
