The Program Manager provides oversight and planning for the development, implementation, and delivery of a program(s).
Additional Department Summary:
The Program Manager for Culverhouse Connections is responsible for developing, leading, administering and setting goals/strategies in collaboration with the Director of Career Management in the Culverhouse Career Center to achieve the vision/mission established by the Dean or his/her designees. Some programs and responsibilities under the purview of this position are Professional Development Series; Culverhouse Connections on the Road; Mock Interview Days, "Get To Know" Employer information Session Series; Training for mentors and mentees; relationship development with employers and alumni to increase mentoring and job shadowing opportunities for students; individual career advising and preparation; relationship building as it relates to enhancing the funding for the program along with other related programs and responsibilities that may enhance the Culverhouse Connections. Occasional travel will be required. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing planning and implementing events, lectures, and executive visits occurring for the benefit of Culverhouse Connections. This program enhances the academic experience for students. Position holder will coordinate membership and meet program goals on three different levels: 1) all Culverhouse College of Commerce Students 2) individuals who have applied and been accepted as participants in the job shadow and informational interviewing program and 3) individuals (students and industry professionals) accepted in the mentee/mentor program. The experience by the students, mentors, and visiting executives participating in the program must meet high quality standards to effectively communicate the mission of this program as well as generate continued support. Update and execute strategies to accomplish long term vision and goals originally developed by the Advisory Board to meet the vision/mission of the College and the Dean of the Culverhouse College of Commerce. This requires coordinated effort with the Director of Career Management in Career Center at Culverhouse, along with other key players identified within the College, to develop effective strategies that will increase awareness of the program as well as the College in the context of the vision and goals established by the Dean or his/her designee(s).
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of experience, OR a Master's degree and some experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree and two (2) years of experience. Experience in academic setting or related industry field. Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.
Skills and Knowledge:
Experience with Microsoft suite of Office Products, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong interpersonal skills; strong organizational skills; detail oriented; creative and critical thinking skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; knowledge of budgeting and overseeing a program. Ability to establish budgets, create cost effective programs, establishing long-range objectives, specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them, and providing feedback about progress toward them. Ability to multitask, perform two or more tasks simultaneously or able to rapidly switch attention between tasks. Knowledgeable in presentation skills and able to communicate through various media. Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide or direct others to achieve a goal or accomplish a task. Knowledge in career planning and development, professional communication, professional etiquette, and networking.
Master's Degree in Higher ED or business and experience in marketing, career services, recruiting, or development is preferred. 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 37835.16 Midpoint - $ 54870.36
