Full-time Tenure Track Faculty Requirements: BHCC seeks full-time faculty who demonstrate a passion for teaching and a desire to join faculty and staff to expand and create new strategies for student success.  Faculty must be experienced in teaching in learning communities or willing to become proficient in learning community pedagogy and practice once hired, as well as be adept in the assessment of learning outcomes and in the use of technology in the classroom. Additionally, BHCC seeks faculty who value advising students and wish to contribute fully to the life of the College.  Faculty may be assigned courses at one or more of the College's locations.  Ability to instruct online is a plus.  Further, applicants must have proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.

The Program Director for the Medical Laboratory Technician Program will report to the Dean of Science, Engineering and Health Programs.  The director will provide leadership in the administration of the Medical Laboratory Technician Program including curriculum design and review and compliance to the National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) accreditation standards.  Responsible for the organization, administration, periodic review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the Clinical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Technician Program.  The Program Director will teach didactic and clinical courses.


  • Provide coordination for the program's clinical placements
  • Oversee competency-based clinical experiences that offer well-balanced variety of Clinical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Technician Program procedures, examinations and equipment
  • Establish, maintain, and assess clinical affiliates to ensure that these sites provide students with education that meets the standards of quality for accreditation
  • Develop, review and implement all policies regarding the Clinical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Technician Program, including policies related to performance, assessment, retention and graduation requirements
  • Oversee program curriculum and clinical sites as necessary to meet requirements of the accreditation agencies and graduate eligibility for the national certification examination
  • Be responsible for the organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, continuous quality improvement, curriculum planning and development, directing other program faculty/staff, and general effectiveness of the program
  • Participate in the budget preparation process
  • Engage in a minimum of 36 hours of documented continuing professional education over every 3 years
  • Maintain NAACLS accreditation of the program
  • Maintain regular and consistent contact with students, faculty and program personnel
  • Comply with all duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement


  • Master's degree and three years of experience in clinical laboratory science education
  • ASCP-BOC U.S. generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist
  • Administrative experience preferred
  • Knowledge of current NAACLS  accreditation and certification procedures preferred

Additional Information

Salary Range: $65,000.00-$70,000.00. Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Relocation Stipend Available.
