Position: Two Education Coordinators (Variable-Time) assigned to the Nurse Aide Testing Project in the Department of Workforce Education and Development at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. One position will serve the northern half of Illinois while the other position will serve the southern half of the state.
Responsibilities: These positions will be responsible for coordinating Nurse Aide Train-the-Trainer/Approved Evaluator workshops; conducting clinical site visits in all Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) regions in Illinois; developing and updating standardized workshop training materials; updating and revising the Illinois Nurse Aide Training Program curriculum in conjunction with IDPH and the CNA Advisory Committee; and coordinating, co-hosting, and/or presenting at nurse aide workshops and conferences across the state. Some travel is required.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Education; current licensure (or ability to obtain licensure prior to employment) in Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse; two years recent experience in long-term care; familiarity with restorative and rehabilitative nursing.
Preferred Qualifications: Certified Nurse Educator; CNA instructor in the State of Illinois; certification in restorative and rehabilitative nursing; approved CNA evaluator; experience with teaching methodologies; familiar with federal and state long-term care regulations.
