Detailed Job Description

Full-time 180 days per semester plus a 25-day supplemental contract with the position encompassing both teaching and management responsibilities.

This position is responsible for the administration of the Medical Laboratory Program and includes teaching, maintaining program accreditation, conducting and managing learning experiences, evaluating student achievement, managing and developing curriculum, policy and procedure formulation, evaluation of program effectivenes and data collection. Responsibilites also include student recruitment and advising, student admission and retention in the program, enrollment management and student guidance. Further responsibilities include scheduling, hiring adjunct faculty and maintaining the program budget. The program coordinator also works in collaboration with the clinical coordinator to recruit, manage and maintain clinical affiliations and articulations. The program coordinator will be required to maintain a teaching workload of 10-12 contact hours and 10 office hours per week per semester. Additionally, this position participates in activities which support and enhance the student learning environment and faculty professional development, and fulfill the mission, the vision, and strategic plan of the College.

Job Requirements

Clinical laboratory scientist/medical technologist with minimum of Masters degree.

Clinical laboratory scientist/medical technologist who holds nationally recognized generalist certification and three(3) years of experience in clinical laboratory science education which includes teaching courses, curriculum development, knowledge of educational methods, administration, as well as current accreditation and certification procedures.
