The School of Information Systems and Applied Technologies (ISAT) anticipates one or more non-Tenure Track teaching positions in the area of Electronic Systems Technology (EST). ISAT is within the College of Applied Sciences and Arts (CASA), Southern Illinois University (SIU) Carbondale. CASA is the third largest undergraduate academic unit at SIU Carbondale, a doctoral research-extensive university. ISAT provides three BS degree programs for SIU undergraduate students - Electronic Systems Technologies (EST), Information Systems Technologies (IST), and Technical Resource Management (TRM). The successful candidate(s) will deliver off-campus undergraduate courses at military facilities (http://isat.siu.edu/undergraduate/military-off-campus-programs/est-off-campus-programs.php), as a part of the SIU Extended Campus program - http://extendedcampus.siu.edu/off-campus-locations/index.html. EST has currently five off-campus programs in Great Lakes, IL, Jacksonville, NC, Cherry Point & New River, NC, and North Island, CA. This is a term, non-Tenure-Track appointment. Travel to the teaching site is required for 3 weekends.
Lecturers may be needed in one or more of the following areas: Optical Fiber and Optical Electronics, Technical AC/DC/Solid State Electronics, Technical Digital Electronics, Electronic Communications systems, Microcontroller Programming in Assembly and High Level, Data Interpretation & Statistics, and Technical Writing. The following courses are taught at a military off-campus: EST 300, 302, 340, 341, 342, 343, 351, 365, 385, 387, 388, 401, 404, 441, 450, 451, and ISAT 366. Qualifications: Master's degree in a major appropriate to one or more of the EST disciplines noted above with strong industry experience.
