A senior post-doc/lab manager/research assistant professor position is currently available in the Laboratory of Dr. Ajay V. Maker, M.D., in the Departments of Surgery and Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Illinois, Chicago.

The lab studies the phenotype and function of lymphocytes in infiltrating metastatic deposits from solid tumors, in addition to the cytokine milieu in tumor specimens and its effect on tumor infiltrating lymphocytes. The applicant will be expected to have a mastery of tumor immunobiology, the ability to carry out these experiments independently, and oversee post-doctoral fellows.

These studies will be performed, in part, on tumor samples and the findings will have direct translational impact on current and future clinical trials using immunotherapy for cancer.

The qualified individual should have an advanced degree with extensive research experience or a Ph.D. in Immunology and tumor biology. Past appointment(s) and experience working as a lab manager will be considered a plus.

It is REQUIRED that the successful applicant has working experience in lymphocyte biology will be able to work at the bench independently, interpret data, troubleshoot his/her experiments and write manuscripts.
