• Manages departmental budget operations, including daily routine budget functions as well as preparing the annual budget.
• Serves as M&C budget preparation liaison with the Finance Department throughout the year and especially during the annual budget preparation process.
• Processes all routine budgetary functions, including: data entry, invoices, purchase orders and contracts, transferring funds, handling capital equipment requests, and more.
• Prepares and maintains a complex system of departmental records, reports, and databases.
• Prepares forecasts, projections, trends and cost analyses.
• Analyzes data and performs department expense trend analysis; compares current data with budgeted forecasted numbers; makes recommendations for solutions to Vice President of M&C.
• Prepares charts, graphs and related materials for reports and presentations.
• Provides on-going review and recommendations for continued improvement of all processes related to budget management.
• Contributes to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues and opportunities.
• Develops and leads in budget management training of department personnel, as needed.
• Gathers and compiles non-functional data relating to performance metrics for the Marketing department
• Performs other related administrative tasks and duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree
• Experience in bookkeeping/accounting

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Demonstrated record of handling multiple tasks, assignments and deadlines simultaneously
• Excellent organization, customer service, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Proficiency skills in keyboarding, word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Excel), Microsoft PowerPoint, grammar and math skills
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational, time management, follow-up, problem solving and analytical skills Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment • Sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or business
• 2 years’ experience in budget control and forecasting

• Experience with Banner software (SunGard)
• Experience with CRM such as SalesLogix
• Experience in higher education
• Experience handling multiple budgets

Work Schedule

Standard College hours of business 8:30AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday
