12-month non tenure-earning faculty appointment with an initial two-year renewable appointment. Following successful yearly reviews, consecutive appointments will be on a three-year renewable basis. Faculty member will teach (online) field education integrative seminar; recruit field agencies for distance learning students for the School of Social Work field internship program; match distance learning students with field agencies; make liaison placements; and, assist in providing orientation to students, field instructors and faculty liaisons. Faculty member will serve on School of Social Work committees.
Minimum qualifications include an MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program and a minimum of two years’ post MSW practice experience. Successful candidate must be license eligible in the state of Alabama; have experience in teaching, training or field instruction; and must have the ability to use multiple platforms of technology including complex database systems.
The School of Social Work Field Education Office coordinates 450 student internships in community organizations and engages students simultaneously in both classroom and practice learning during the academic year. Internship sites are located in Alabama, nationally, and internationally.
Instructor will be a member of the Field Team and report primarily to the Field Education Director and the Dean.

Preferred qualifications include prior teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level, prior experience as a field internship coordinator, knowledge of CSWE accreditation standards, and prior experience using platforms such as Blackboard; Blackboard Collaborate, and Intern Placement Tracking System.
