Description of Position: The researcher III position is a full-time position assigned to the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice. The position is responsible for managing all aspects pertaining to a grant obtained by the department. The position is contingent upon availability and financial funding.
Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include the development and implementation of evaluation tools that meet the standards specified by the grant proposal; project design, data collection, data entry, instrumentation development, and analyses; meeting specified deadlines for all interim and final deliverables; technical report writing and supervision of graduate student researchers involved with the grant. Weekly travel required (~20%).
Minimum Requirements: MA or MS in the social sciences or a Bachelor's degree in the social sciences plus equivalent experience; demonstrated knowledge of principles of program evaluation and survey research methodology required; demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data as necessary; and demonstrated familiarity with SPSS is essential.
Preferred Requirements: Preferred qualifications include an advanced understanding of program evaluation, statistics (using SPSS), and survey research methodology with a minimum of 3-4 years of professional experience utilizing these skill sets. Exposure to the criminal justice system.
Incumbent will be required to obtain IDOC security clearance at time of hire.
