The College of Applied Sciences and Arts (ASA) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for an anticipated Assistant/Associate Professor's position within ASA's School of Allied Health's baccalaureate program in Health Care Management beginning August 16, 2016. This is a continuing, nine-month, tenure-track position.

The Assistant Professor rank requires at least two years' experience teaching healthcare management coursework at the undergraduate level as it relates to the US health care system. The Associate Professor rank requires qualifications commensurate with Department and College criteria for appointment at that rank, including substantial evidence supporting excellence in teaching, professional service, and scholarly productivity in nationally/internationally recognized refereed journals and conferences and a minimum of three years post-PhD teaching experience teaching healthcare management coursework at the undergraduate level as it relates to the US health care system.
Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of AUPHA certification processes. Graduate degree is attained from a CAHME accredited program. Have experience teaching healthcare coursework to include statistics, health information systems, finance, and long term care to undergraduate students. Experience in teaching a variety of other topic areas including, but not limited to population health, the affordable care act, and managerial epidemiology as they specifically relate to the healthcare industry. Have two or more years' experience as a manager or supervisor in a healthcare organization resulting in direct industry specific administrative knowledge.Responsibilities: Provide direct classroom instruction and hold office hours as assigned. Teaching in multiple delivery formats including face-to-face on-campus lecture (day and evening) online (traditional and accelerated), and/or off-campus/remote site (accelerated weekends) is expected. Assist with student recruitment and retention activities and perform service duties as assigned. Participate and complete course assessment activities for the Health Care Management program. Conduct scholarly research and produce creative activities consistent with School of Allied Health expectations. Some travel may be expected based on workload assignment. Engage in other duties as determined by the Director of the School of Allied Health.
