Under the direction of the Department Chair, teaches undergraduate technology management courses. Plans, prepares, and follows an approved course of study with measurable objectives. Teaches day, evening, off campus, and online classes as needed or assigned. Participates collaboratively and professionally with other faculty and staff to promote the general well-being of the department and college.
Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with an appropriate degree in a related field to the coursework being taught. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. See preferred qualifications for discipline or program-specific minimum qualifications.
Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a doctorate degree in Technology Management or related field or master’s degree plus two years of experience in a related discipline. Demonstrated successful teaching for a minimum of one year at the college or university level is required.
Knowledge of subject matter and curriculum development pertinent to the field of technology management (e.g., advanced manufacturing, information/knowledge management, lean/Six Sigma, materials management, project management, quality, and reliability and safety).
Skills and experience in one or more technical areas such as manufacturing and production, electrical automation, engineering graphics, engineering technology, mechatronics, information systems, product and project management, etc.
Pertinent software skills used by technology managers (e.g., MS Excel, MS Project, GP Dynamics, etc., and online software management systems such as Canvas).
Skills in verbal and written communication.
Skills in time management and organization.
Managerial and administrative abilities, including interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to plan and prepare instructional materials for a course of study with measurable objectives for each course taught and maintain and submit reports and records involving student accountability, attendance, performance, and follow-up.
Ability to maintain a student-oriented approach to education and engage students in projects with outside organizations.
