Detailed Job Description

Under direct supervision, provides administrative support to the department. The position is responsible for representing the University by communicating with internal and external constituents; assisting with student recruitment activities; maintaining calendars; coordinating events; and managing the department’s social media presence.

Minimum Qualifications

High School education or its equivalent; supplemented with one to three (1-3) years of experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Provides administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the department and to the department chairperson; addresses all incoming calls and deliveries for the department; and serves as a liaison between departments, faculty, and staff.

Works with the faculty and College recruitment specialist to support student recruitment; provides staff support for the recruitment committee; and maintains a database of current and graduated students.

Tabulates and prepares monthly reports of department, program, and faculty activities; provides staff support for various program committees; creates and maintains student listservs; assists with faculty communications; responds to questions; and resolves issues of general complexity.

Manages the social media presence for both programs of the department; and monitors program email accounts.

Coordinates and performs administrative services; makes arrangements for events and meetings; composes and types correspondence; manages room scheduling for department; and manages student record filing systems.

Schedules, supervises, and serves as time-approver for the department’s student workers.

Performs other duties as assigned
