Detailed Job Description

The Office of Technology at Lewis University invites applications for a Service Desk Specialist to provide first level contact to end users and convey resolutions for customer issues. This individual will provide support via phone, email, remote sessions and in-person to end users.  This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is customer focused, with knowledge of computer hardware, software, network systems and remote tools.   

Some Primary Responsibilities Include: 

  • Provide first level contact and covey resolutions to end-users
  • Escalate unresolved queries to next level support
  • Track, route and redirect problems from end users using emails, phone calls and ticketing system
  • Create and update training documentation and procedures

Minimum Qualifications: 

Associates Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Systems related field.  Customer service and client-facing communication skills with English language proficiency.  Strong working and technical knowledge of hardware, software, network systems and remote management tools.  Troubleshooting, multi-tasking and knowledge of university software and common industry software is also required.  Prefer individuals with experience in service desk support and with ticket software systems.
