Detailed Job Description

Under the supervision of the Associate Athletic Director – External Affairs, creates and implements a comprehensive marketing and promotional plan. Plans, coordinates, and implements event and game operations. Manages, coordinates, and coaches interns and students interested in sports marketing. Assists in securing, managing, and engaging corporate partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline plus three years of staff level experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling seven years.


Knowledge of Athletics NCAA DI technical writing procedures.

Knowledge of general marketing practices.

Knowledge with the regulations governing intercollegiate athletics as set forth by the NCAA.


Skills in developing fund raising, advertising, and marketing promotions.

Skills in computers and computer software applications.


Ability to manage a set budget as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director over Marketing and Promotions.

Ability to recruit, train, and supervise staff employees associated with athletic marketing.

Ability to coordinate effectively with various campus constituencies.

Ability to work with people in public relations settings.

Ability to plan, organize and problem-solve.

Ability to direct and supervise marketing plans for various sporting programs.

Ability to uphold and abide by all NCAA regulations and university institutional policies and procedures.

Ability to interact and communicate with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
