Detailed Job Description

The Office of Human Resources at Lewis University provides leadership and guidance in the development, implementation and administration of policies and procedures, thus fostering a positive work environment.  We never forget to see the human side of our work and always maintain respect for the individual. 

Position Overview: Our division invites applicants for the position of HRIS Analyst and Development Coordinator.  As a member of our team, the selected individual will perform a full range of professional responsibilities and apply his/her expertise to analyze business processes, create reports and respond to technical system user inquiries. 

This exciting opportunity will allow the individual to provide analytical and technical support to the Human Resources division in relation to HRIS initiatives as well as support the design and implementation of professional development programs to improve the depth of the University’s talent.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree required.  At least seven (7) years human resources experience performing functional roles with progressive responsibility. A strong computer technical background and knowledge of HRIS systems, web technology and data base applications. Ability to create spreadsheets, reports and perform statistical data analysis from gathered data. At least two years’ recent, substantive work experience with performing sensitive and confidential investigations. Experience and demonstrated ability to work with broad segments of a university community-faculty, staff, students. Ability to be an effective team member who can foster strong relationships across organizational boundaries. Excellent interpersonal skills including listening, speaking and writing. Excellent problem solving and conflict management skills. Knowledge of current theory and practice in the field of human resource management.

Preferred Qualifications: 

A Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, Higher Education, or a related field. Experience with Banner/Ellucian enterprise software. A strong command and working knowledge of basic and advanced principles of Title IX and non-discrimination statutes and regulations. Knowledge and expertise with diversity, social justice education, and inclusion experiences within a religiously affiliated institution. Possess the ability to work independently without supervision.
