Wheaton College (IL) is seeking to fill two full-time, tenure-track faculty positions, in our APA-accredited Psy.D. program for Fall 2016: a Core Faculty position and a Director of Clinical Training (DCT). Both positions are open rank offerings. As a diverse community of faculty and students who share a faith-based commitment to professional practice as service, especially to those marginalized in our society, we strongly encourage applications from groups underrepresented in higher education, including women and ethnic and racial minorities.
1) Core Faculty, PsyD Program/Professor of Psychology (Open Rank):
Responsibilities include teaching, seminar-based oversight of clinical training, and dissertation research supervision. Successful candidates are expected to pursue a high-quality program of research and to mentor students in these ongoing efforts. Areas of specialization are open, however, consistent with our core program mission, a strong preference will be given to candidates with clinical and research interests related to historically underserved populations.
2) Director of Clinical Training/ Core Faculty, PsyD Program (Open Rank):
Responsibilities include developing guidelines/procedures relevant to clinical training, facilitating external practicum, and maintaining liaisons with clinical placements throughout the Chicagoland area. The DCT will also collaborate with other faculty in facilitating internship applications. This model has been useful as our APA internship match rate has been well above 90% over the past three years. This is a tenure-track appointment with administrative responsibilities, and the DCT is supported in their duties by a clinical training coordinator. As a core faculty member, the DCT position also includes expectations for scholarship, mentoring, and modest teaching responsibilities. Both positions require a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from an APA accredited institution, or an allied field. Licensure or license-eligible in the state of Illinois is also required. College teaching experience and a strong track record of scholarly publications are both highly desirable.
Send letter of interest, vitae, and names of references by email to Terri Watson, Associate Dean, at: Terri.Watson@wheaton.edu. Application forms will be sent to promising inquirers. Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Start date is August 2016.
