The ITS Communications Coordinator is responsible for the overall deployment of the communication efforts of Information Technology Services. This includes the development of a comprehensive communication strategy and work plan each year in support of the University and ITS technology priorities. Creation and oversight of the writing, editing and/or coordination of news releases, newsletters, annual reports, proposals, brochures, world-wide web and other materials or projects related to information technology. Establishment of close contacts with the ITS Leadership Team, ITS managers and staff, University Communications, WSU News and Information Services, WSU Publications and Printing, community and school leaders.
A Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing or other relevant field AND two (2) years of professional experience in print OR broadcast news media, public relations, marketing including the use of electronic media or two (2) years of other relevant professional experience.
-Master’s degree; experience in higher education or an institutional environment.
-Experience in developing and implementing a communications or marketing plan.
-Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
-Experience in using design applications; experience in print production processes and experience coordinating the production of printed pieces (from developing and conveying the concept through the design, proofing, production, and distribution phases).
