Detailed Job Description

Under general direction, the Digital Communication Coordinator initiates, assesses, and produces print and visual communications and digital content for Saint Louis University’s web site and official social media accounts; develops proposals, timelines, and site maps for digital content on Saint Louis University’s web site; and conducts studies on web site usability and reports on analytics and other data.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics

Knowledge of web applications and technology (i.e. Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Hootsuite, Content Management System)
Advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
Project coordination and time management skills
Customer service skills with ability to provide site coordination solutions
Ability to recognize trends in digital communication and marketing
Ability to think abstractly and conceptually
Basic photography and videography skills

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with two (2) years of related experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Creates and produces written and visual digital content for the University web site and Saint Louis University’s official social media accounts.

Assists in maintaining SLU’s official social media presence and communications; and monitors the performance of SLU’s social media accounts and the University web site through analytics and other bench-marking data.

Assists University stakeholders, schools, and departments in digital project development, proposal preparation, and project timelines; builds relationships with digital content creators throughout the University to maintain SLU’s content strategy and best practices; and trains and assists users in SLU’s content management system.

Conducts usability studies; reports on analytics; prepares reports on study findings; and proposes changes to digital communications.

Maintains SLU’s content strategy and editorial writing quality; monitors the University web site and social media accounts for appropriate style; and maintains University marketing standards for all types of digital communications.

Performs other duties as assigned.
