Automotive Technology Position(s): The College of Applied Sciences and Arts (ASA) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for one or more anticipated positions of Instructor or Assistant Instructor within the College's Department of Automotive Technology distance education (DE) offering. These are variable time, term, non-tenure track appointments. Courses are held at the off-campus location(s) in the Chicago, IL region. Courses are taught via traditional classroom, laboratory, online, and hybrid formats. Appointments begin August 13, 2016, or until acceptable applicants are determined.
Required Qualifications: Earned Bachelor's Degree in automotive, education, or field related to course topic. Demonstrated knowledge of current vehicle technology, modern testing/diagnostic processes, or industry practices related to course topics. Three years of related work experience to course topics. A minimum of four (4) areas of ASE certification from the "A" series of exams required for technical course instructors with documented work experience appropriate to the ASE certifications held.
Preferred Qualifications: Earned Master's Degree. If a Master's Degree is held, the appointment will be at the rank of Instructor.
