Dean, Career and Technical Programs
Harper College is currently seeking applicants for the position of Dean, Career and Technical Programs. The Dean of Career and Technical Programs is responsible for leading and administering the instructional and support service programs of the Career and Technical Programs Division.
The successful candidate will have the ability to create and support new career programs, innovative scheduling strategies and academic delivery methods to meet the needs of students. You will support the integration of credit and non-credit career programs and be responsible for outreach to area employers resulting in opportunities for internships and development and maintenance of relevant curriculum. Your responsibilities will also include hiring, mentoring and evaluating division faculty and staff; scheduling and staffing a course schedule based on student needs; and developing and monitoring a division budget and career focused grants.


  • Master's degree in Higher Education/Community College Administration, Business or Career Program area required, doctorate preferred.
  • Experience in a college or university setting.
  • Collegiate-level teaching experience.
  • Experience working in a career field preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience administering one or more career programs in a college setting.
