Designs, implements, and maintains the institution’s audio and visual (AV) application systems and/or IT infrastructure. Provides an architectural framework for A/V system development, programming, maintenance and enhancements. Understands user and process requirements and ensures those requirements are achieved through high quality deliverables. Works closely with other engineers, system administrators, project leads, and customers to ensure effective integration of A/V systems and the IT infrastructure. Works on critical issues and complex projects. Monitors A/V technological advancements to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards as well as emerging campus requirements. Analyzes systems and performs usability testing to ensure performance, consistency, reliability, enhanced scalability, and security requirements. Considered a subject matter expert within discipline. Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field plus four years of experience related to summary of duties or a combination of education and relevant work experience totaling eight years.
Must have at least two year leadership responsibility.
Preferred Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification.
Preferred Crestron Certified Programmer (silver level or above.)
Knowledge of instructional, communication, multimedia, and distance learning technology usage in a university setting.
Knowledge of multimedia hardware, software, and system design.
Knowledge of production, evaluation, instructional services, and resource management principles.
Knowledge of multimedia and distance learning design and production techniques.
Knowledge of theories and techniques involved in the compilation and analysis of statistical and resource data.
Knowledge of training programs and training program development.
Knowledge of A/V Design and implementation.
Knowledge of field-proven management skills.
Knowledge of different types of AV systems (classrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, conference rooms, huddle spaces, theaters).
Knowledge of digital and analog AV signals (HDMI, display port, HDBaseT, SDI, unbalanced and balanced audio, multi-channel audio, etc.)
Knowledge of desktop applications, MS Office, and Internet browsers.
Knowledge of Enterprise networking (IP Configuration, VLANs, etc.)
Knowledge of Service Management.
Knowledge of Crestron, AMX, Extron Control Systems and Crestron programming protocal.
Knowledge of Windows and Mac OS X Operating Systems.
Knowledge of video streaming technologies (Unicast vs. Multicast, Audio/Video Codecs, etc.)
Knowledge of platform development and administration (operating system installation, configuration, virtualization, and backup recovery).
