Detailed Job Description
The Academic Coordinator is responsible for coordination of all didactic and laboratory activities associated with the AACC Physician Assistant Program. The Academic Coordinator may be responsible for teaching up to nine hours per semester or an equivalent as an instructor in the Physician Assistant Program. Temporary until July 31, 2018.
Bachelor's degree or higher in physician assistant or related field required.
Minimum of two years of practical experience required
Current license or eligibility for licensure with the state of Maryland. NCCPA certification as a PA, or equivalent for MD, PharmD, NP or DO required.
Ability to meet requirements for teaching faculty as outlined in the ARC-PA standards.
Ability to travel to clinical locations on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodations. Valid Maryland driver's license and clean driving record required when operating college-owned vehicle.
Master's degree in physician assistant field preferred.
Previous teaching experience in a formal PA program preferred.
Previous academic program development experience preferred.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills.
Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with faculty, staff, students, agencies and the public.
