Detailed Job Description

This position is responsible for the direction, supervision, and management of the newly formed Animal Resources & Operations (ARO) unit. The ARO encompasses several animal housing facilities and employs approximately 35 full and part time staff.

Required Qualifications

Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least one (1) year of managerial experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment. Positions may require applicable licensure and/or certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with animal facility centralization and/or centralized management of multiple animal facilities.

Certification at the Laboratory Animal Technologist level with the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS).

AALAS Certified Manager of Animal Resources (CMAR) certification or Institute for
Laboratory Animal Management (ILAM) completion.

Graduate (MS, MBA, PhD) or professional degree (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine).

Monthly Salary

Commensurate with qualifications and experience
