The Asian Studies Program of Bates College, a highly selective private liberal arts college located in south-central Maine, invites applications and nominations for a one-semester position as visiting lecturer in Chinese for the autumn semester, 2016. The position will begin August 1, 2016, with a course load of two courses.
An MA in Chinese language and/or language acquisition will be considered. Candidates must exhibit native/near native proficiency in Chinese and English, maintain a commitment to teaching language courses in a liberal arts setting, and demonstrate training and experience in Chinese language teaching. The successful candidate will teach lower levels of Chinese language.
