Adjunct postings for Fall 2016-Visual Design courses

VMA-129-01    Visual Design with HTML & CSS              TH     1:00PM-3:45PM

  • A second-level course involving typography, layout and design in the context of interactive media, using HTML and CSS as visual design tools.

VMA-133-01    Typography II                                              T       1:00PM-5:15PM

  • A second-level course involving information design and design of long-form content for print and digital books, magazines and other publication formats, with emphasis on working through the design process from sketch, revision and final presentation.

VMA-275-01    Interactive Design I                                    TH     10:00AM-12:45PM

  • A second-level course in interactive design processes including basic design elements; page layouts; site plan; visual design in Photoshop and optimized graphic generation.

VMA-105-01    Digital Imaging With Photoshop                W      10:00AM-12:45PM

  • An open-enrollment introduction to Photoshop for both majors and non-majors.

VMA-106-01  Digital Image-Making for Artists and Designers    M 10:00AM 12:45PM

  • Introduction to Photoshop for VMA majors: treats the technical aspects of digital imaging through projects where students explore principles of color and composition, meaning, expression, representation, sequence and narrative. VMA102 Composition and Color is a prerequisite.

  • An introductory course in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

  • A project-based survey of historical styles in graphic design from medieval to contemporary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Commercial experience as a graphic designer required
  • College level teaching experience preferred
  • Ability to teach Adobe Suite software
  • A portfolio of professional work that demonstrates skills in design typography and print  and/or Interactive/web production
  • Experience with Learning Communities or openness to engaging in the teaching of Learning Communities
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population

Salary: $1,025.00 per credit hour
