The Development Coordinator is responsible for working collaboratively with the Dean’s office, the College of Arts and Sciences Development, and WSU Foundation staff to ensure donors, alumni, students, faculty and staff, receive appropriate communication and follow-through on areas such as but not limited to fundraising, donor relations and stewardship, university-foundation liaison, scholarship development, annual giving, and prospect management.
A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Prior experience/knowledge of standard professional development processes.
Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining effective and cooperative working relationships within the immediate work unit, the larger organization, outside agencies, and other organizations.
Experience in higher education with demonstrated knowledge of Washington State University operations, policies, and procedures.
Previous fundraising experience and event planning experience, including demonstrated ability to create, initiate, strategize and organize public relations activities and events which focus on college development activities.
