The Principal Assistant position serves as the principal advisor to the Director of CAHNRS Communication and serves as the primary contact for operational and administrative activities for the Department. This position is responsible to provide administrative, managerial, fiscal, personnel, and leadership for staff support, including delegated authority to make commitments affecting the management and operations. This position requires the exercise of independent judgment and decision-making in handling complex and confidential issues, based a broad knowledge of WSU policies and procedures.
A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible management work experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Experience working in a higher education or similarly complex public or private organization.
Demonstrated ability to interact with a wide range of people including students, faculty, staff, stakeholders, and other University offices.
Experience working with senior executives and/or leadership personnel.
