Miami University Libraries seek a forward-thinking, collaborative and energetic leader with an understanding of the changing environment of librarianship in this digital age. The incumbent will serve as a key member of the library administration as an Assistant Dean in the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with the library leadership to articulate a vision, set priorities and assess services for the university libraries. With the implementation of the university’s Strategic Planning document, Miami 2020, the Assistant Dean will work closely with the Libraries Executive Team to ensure that the Libraries’ strategic objectives and metrics are carried out and measured.
The candidate will work closely with library administration and staff to ensure that policies and initiatives are fully implemented. This is a senior leadership position. The position has administrative responsibility for the following departments, units and services: Technical Services and Acquisitions; Special Collections and Archives; Digital Initiatives. During the next twelve months, the University Libraries will embark on an organizational review that may result in the realigning of departments reporting to this position.
The successful candidate will have a sufficient and established record in librarianship, scholarship and service; rank of associate librarian with continuing contract at Miami University no later than July 1, 2016; 3-5 years of administrative experience.
