Under general direction, manages the planning and execution of large, complex information technology projects or programs and ensures that the scope, schedule and resource objectives are met; establishes project goals and objectives; identifies resource requirements and acquires appropriate resources; coordinates the efforts of team members and third-party contractors to deliver projects according to plan; coordinates the integration and communication of project efforts across a variety of departments; monitors and manages project issues, risks, and quality throughout the project life cycle.

Four-year college education, five to eight (5-8) years of experience; Management Institute, Project Management Professional certification, or a Project Management Certification from an accredited institution.
Directs and manages all stages of projects and programs using ITS standard processes, practices and tools.
Liaises with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis; manages stakeholder expectations and coordinates stakeholder involvement in providing information or deliverables to the project; works with stakeholders throughout the project to ensure buy-in and understanding
Proactively manages change in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans; actively manages all project issues, risks and project changes; establishes and maintain issue logs, risk registers and change logs; actively manages issues to ensure effective and timely resolution and, as needed, escalates issues to sponsors or management; identifies risks, establishes mitigation strategies and contingency plans, and establishes regular monitoring processes to identify risk occurrences; identifies, analyzes, documents and obtains approvals as needed to manage project changes.
Oversees business analysts and project coordinators either in the context of a program or as the functional manager of the ITS Project Office; establishes performance objectives, development plans; assists mentoring and project managers and coordinators in executing project management processes and best practices.
Establish, maintain and continually improve the standard project management processes and practices within the division. Mentor and coach other project managers and participate in the development and delivery of project management or related workshops, briefings or training events.
