Visiting Assistant Professor

Department of Computer Sciences

St. Edward's University invites applications for a renewable one-year full-time visiting faculty position in the Department of Computer Sciences, to begin in August 2016. Areas of specialization given special consideration include experience teaching Software Engineering I and II, Computer Architecture, and General Education Computer Science courses. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Duties include teaching four courses per semester. The particular courses taught will depend on the needs of the department. Responsibilities also include involvement in university, school, and departmental activities. Other required faculty duties as specified in the Faculty Manual.


Ph.D. in computer science or closely related field is preferred. Masters degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Science including 18 hours graduate level computer science courses required. Demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and teaching experience at the college level is preferred. Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check required.
