Detailed Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with the instruction of students in fieldwork education courses on designated days/times. Assist with the supervision of students on Level I Fieldwork on designated days/times. Assist with coordination of the academic fieldwork component of the program (e.g. establish new sites, insure student compliance with medical/CORI requirements, conduct site visits, and establish fieldwork contacts as the basis for contractural relationships). Assist in the implementation of fieldwork education policy and procedures. Assist in the initial and on-going communication with fieldwork educators regarding the program's philosophy, curriculum expectations, fieldwork objectives and student progress. Assist in the supervision and advisement of students regarding the fieldwork experience, the site selection process, and conflict resolution during fieldwork assignments. Assist with the documentation of student performance on fieldwork and the verification that educational outcomes have been met. Assists with the collection and compilation of pertinent fieldwork data and information required for assigning students to sites, program evaluation and curriculum decisions. Assist to educate/mentor clinical educators regarding fieldwork issues. Participate in division of occupational therapy and school of health sciences meetings and college events as appropriate. · Attend required convocations, meetings, commencement, academic awards ceremonies, and workshops and be available to participate in activities that promote the College in a positive manner both on and off campus. · Participate in professional development activities related to one's faculty role, including maintain up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practice in area of clinical expertise and specialized clinical credentials Engage in service to the department, School, and College through committee membership. Other duties as assigned by chair/director or dean.


Required Degree(s):Master's degree in OT Preferred Degree(s):Doctorate in OT (OTD, PhD) or related field Required Field of Expertise: 3 years of OT clinical practice Preferred Field of Expertise: 3-5 years of practice experience; preference given to applicants with expertise in pediatrics Required Training/Cert: Preferred Training/Cert:
Required Licensure(s): OTR/L
