Under general direction, researches and oversees information technology operations for pathology; provides technical expertise and strategic planning; provides training and instructional support to faculty, staff and students; develops and implements policies and procedures; ensures cutting edge technology; serves as IT liaison; maintains programs and multiple systems; provides analysis, planning, and implementation of technology projects and products.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; supplemented with two (2) years of related experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinates and oversees the strategic use of technology to support teaching, research, and clinical activities; develops and coordinates computer systems and determines required functionalities; assures appropriate software and application licensing and upgrades as required.

Oversees IT-related training and instructional support for department faculty, residents, students, and staff; directs and supervises staff to resolve problems; provides technical expertise, coordination and support, and serves as a resource for problem resolution; oversees and maintains Web-based teaching applications.

Provides technical expertise and strategic planning; oversees the development and implementation of technology plans to ensure cutting edge technology; performs planning and research related to selecting and installing new technology.

Works cooperatively with University, other SLUCare departments, Tenet, Cardinal Glennon and other outside entities to address technical issues.

Assists with development and directs maintenance of department Web sites; performs other duties as assigned.

Performs other duties as assigned.
