Oversees and assists in supervising all aspects of Dining Services for the Southside Café, Flix Café & Flix Express Late Night, and WSU Children Program. Position provides effective and consistent supervision and leadership to maximize customer satisfaction, employee pride in accordance with the standards set by the Department of Dining Services and financial performance of all direct reports. Responsibilities includes managing production quality controls, ordering, inventory, training and sanitation programs, labor management and time keeping activities, directly or indirectly oversees front of the house activities such as customer service, cashiering and back of the house aspects such as production and effective use of CBORD and programs. Position also assists the Dining Services Director team in administrating budgets, developing operating policies and procedures, planning, student liaison, and related functions.
A Bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant administration, institutional management, business administration or closely related field and four (4) years of supervisory/management experience which included planning and budgeting. Additional qualifying food service work experience and/or vocational training in quantity food preparation may be substituted, year-for-year, for college education.
Experience in university dining operations, including retail and board operations.
Experience with a scheduling software system, to manage and maintain work schedule for 150+ employees.
Experience with Point of Sale System to accurately track sales data.
Experience with Micros POS and My Micros Sales Reporting tool.
Experience managing bargaining unit staff.
