The Director of the Center for International Students and Scholars is a senior member of the Student Affairs division and works closely with various offices to further the mission of the university. The Director is responsible for overseeing the delivery of immigration and federal regulation compliance services, serving as an advocate for the international student population, and, through the efforts of the staff of CISS, and in collaboration with other offices, ensuring the creation and implementation of comprehensive co-curricular programs that further the cultural adjustment of international students and scholars. The director also seeks to provide opportunities for cross-cultural understanding among international students and between international and domestic students.
Master’s degree in student counseling/student development/higher education or related fields plus 5-7 years of related experience including 5 years of prior supervisory experience. Strong background in advising international students; demonstrated ability to create co-curricular programs for students; immigration related experience and working in a collaborative environment preferred.
