Pomona College is looking for a Staff Accountant II, Grant & Revenue Programs to handle the proper accounting and reporting of external revenue from government, corporate, private grants, contracts, and restricted sponsored programs. While reporting to the Assistant Controller, Finance Operations, this position works closely with the Dean of the College’s staff, faculty, and other departments and is expected to provide support with preparation, review, and approval of grant budgets, grant applications, monthly financial reports, and analysis, and ensuring compliance with government accounting and internal control regulations as defined by OMB and other regulatory agencies.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 2 years of college or business school coursework in accounting or related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, grant management and general ledger maintenance is required. Familiarity with billing and cash receipts and expense policies of the College, including review and approval procedures and general accounting procedures is required. Experience at an academic institution is preferred. Should be familiar with financial audits as required by the College and regulatory agencies.
The regular hours for this full time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required. Travel will/may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.
