The School of Health Sciences at Quinnipiac University invites applications for a 12 month administrative position beginning July 2013. We are seeking applicants with expertise in developing and maintaining an advising and mentoring program for undergraduate students in our health science studies and biomedical science degree programs. The Director of Student Advisement and Success will work closely with the Chairman of Biomedical Sciences (BMS) and the Director of the Health Science Studies Program, and will report to the Associate Dean of the School of Health Sciences.


Responsibilities

Developing a Faculty Development Program for advising and mentoring students.

Develop/coordinate the introduction of student Personal Success Plans and work with the Assistant Dean for Career Services to help guide students.

Develop/coordinate the introduction of student ePortfolios.

Maintaining statistics/databases related to students in the BMS Department.

Developing a freshman level “college and professional” seminar course.
Maintaining an active student advising load.
 
 

Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants

Qualifications for this position include a master’s degree in counseling, a health profession, or a closely related field, with experience in developing and administering and advising/mentoring program for college students in the health sciences. The individual will be expected to teach one course per semester. Some teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
