Performs preventative and repair maintenance to ensure all buildings and/or equipment are in a good and safe operating condition. Some positions may perform a variety of tasks requiring specialized skills. Performs maintenance and/or construction work requiring the application of trade skills, codes, and standard trade practices. Inspects assigned buildings, grounds, fixtures, machines, and appliances. Records maintenance repairs as necessary. Performs minor installation, repair, and replacement of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, heating and cooling systems as needed. Reports any complex or unusual problems to supervisor. Estimates time, personnel, and material required on assigned tasks and keeps necessary records.
Graduation with high school diploma and one year related experience or any combination of job related experience and education totaling one year. May require additional certifications.
Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems maintenance and repair.
Knowledge of the operation and repair of various types of motors.
Knowledge of mechanical systems.
Knowledge of safe mechanical and electrical safety practices.
Knowledge of ADA standards for proper mounting of equipment.
Knowledge of electrical circuits and mechanical operations.
Knowledge of safe work practices.
Skills in operating personal computers, including the accompanying operating systems and Microsoft Office software.
Ability to read electronic and mechanical schematics and diagrams.
Ability to operate saws, grinders, drills, forklifts, buffers, and various hand tools.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to find solutions to problems.
Ability to prioritize work.
